Repackaging the Corporate Archive photographs

February 14, 2011

The Stoddard Templeton Corporate Archive contains a large number of photographs which document production processes, company events, staff and carpets produced by Stoddard and Templeton.

These photographs are generally in good condition; however, their current packaging is less than ideal. Exposure to dirt and oils from hands, contact with acids and chemicals from envelopes and rubber bands, and rusting paper clips can all damage or cause photographs to deteriorate over time.

Thus, we are currently working to repackage the photographs into conservation-grade polyester pockets and remove any offending items such as paper clips.

This will help to ensure the long-term preservation of the photographs and make them accessible to researchers. Some examples of the photographs contained within the collection can be found on our Flickr page.
